A very Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2009 is a good one for you and that all your wishes for the coming year come true.

We had a great Christmas; I got amongst my gifts a book on growing your own vegetables. I had a try at some parsnips last year which turned out to be exceedingly small yet very tasty. So this year I am planning on cutting more of our back lawn away to make into vegetable patch. All we will need is a sheep and a few hens and we will be just like the The Good Life

Well this is the last newsletter before Christmas, so I hope you have been organised and shopped for all your presents. If like me you haven't, please do not despair there is still time and there are even more shops that you can find stripykat in, which is obviously the perfect gift.

So if you are thinking of treating yourself or getting that special person their birthday or Christmas presents, have a browse and see what scrumptious goodies are there for you. It is a great time to buy as there is the added bonus of saving money too!

October has been another fun-packed busy month, with lots of exciting things to tell you about. First of all, there are two new sections on the site - yes, TWO! Stripykat now has handmade mp3-player cases that can also be used for your phone or camera to keep them safe and protected.

Oh my goodness I am so excited I have had such a busy month! We were away on our summer holidays to Cornwall, which was brilliant and the weather was actually kind to us. The breeze was warm, so we were able to walk upright and without ten layers of clothes to keep warm, which for a summer holiday is good.

The end of the Summer festivities is upon us with the Olympics ending last weekend with a breathtaking finale. I really enjoyed the Olympics, it certainly makes the couch potatoes of us think about exercise and getting fit. The sport I think would be great to try is Pole Vaulting, they make it look so easy and great fun. We only have four years to wait until London 2012 anyway....think I might start training now!

Well, I really shouldn't have said that the weather was improving in the last newsletter, should I? The rain is bouncing off the ground as I write this, so no sunbathing, picnicking or ice creams for us for the next few days but I am sure there are some individuals out there that are grateful?

It's August already!!! My dancing to the sun gods seems to have worked. I don't know about the weather near you, but the Scottish Summer is improving. Edinburgh is gearing up and ready to go with another International Festival and Fringe. Even if you don't have any shows organised, merely sitting, soaking up the atmosphere and people watching is as great fun.
